Besides the projects I have done for several companies I'm doing
research in the use of Linux for measurement and automation for quite some
years.
Linux is an operating system which is freely available over the
internet. It is very well suited for embedded systems. Due to it's great
scalability it can be used on nearly every modern microprocessor available
today - be it a microprocessor or a mainframe.
In this area I'm currently working on the following problems:
Mobile mini measurement computers with ethernet interface
Image processing with cluster computers in indsutrial environments
Consulting and training for the use of Linux in industry
Development service for Linux based hard- and software solutions
Authoring projects (magazines and a book, "Embedded Linux")

During my employment at Zeutec
Opto-Elektronik GmbH I was working on the development of optical process
analysis measurement systems. Thus, I have experience in optical
spectroscopy and image processing. All systems developed at Zeutec have been
made in a way that they could be used in rough industrial environments.
